Nolan David – cutey pie apple of my eye

I went to Texas for a week right before Ivan and I moved across the ocean to Hawaii.  April is my cousin, Patrick her husband, and Nolan is their little boy.  I could be biased but I feel like he needs to be a Gap baby model.  I’m just saying, bright blue eyes, dark long lashes, and a boyish smile – the little guy has potential.  The sessions were impromptu, some were taken out at the ranch I grew up on and the others were taken at the Dallas Arboretum.

derek & kristina engaged and madly in love

Five years ago, I had the incredible privilege of volunteering in Zambia, Africa for nine months.  Derek was one of the other students there.  We’ve been friends ever since.  He met his Kristina in Yosemite, of all places.  Their chemistry was tangible from the start.  He was crazy about her.  How excited was I when he called  me to photograph the two of them.  Our session got started a bit late due to  California’s crazy unpredictable highway traffic and a fast approaching sunset.  However, we were able to steal away a few light filled moments.  In case you’re wondering why he is proposing, Kristina’s original bling got stolen during their European travels, and naturally so, he wanted to replace it for her.  Their getting married in Costa Rica in March and they’ve asked Ivan and I to do the honors.  Yipee!

Jen rocks out in her wedding dress with Tim’s help

Jen is gorgeous.  Tim is handsome.  The two together are dynamite fun.  They are up for anything.  The zanier the better.  You may recognize these two from their engagement session.  I love the breadth and depth of the different scenes these two are able to pull of with such natural ease.  I felt like I was working with professional models.  My favorites are the mop versus firehose and when they’re frolicking about in the fountain.  Thanks you guys for all the laughs.  Ivan and I will miss you.  Come visit us in Hawaii.  BTW, I am aware I posted a gazillion shots, but I couldn’t help myself this time.

My favorites from Dannon & Kim’s Wedding

I’ve known Dannon for 8 years now.  We became friends in college.  Yesterday, he married his darling Kim.  It was a lovely, splendid afternoon spent with friends.  Ivan even played a David Bowie cover in which he sang in Portugese.
