Five years ago, I had the incredible privilege of volunteering in Zambia, Africa for nine months. Derek was one of the other students there. We’ve been friends ever since. He met his Kristina in Yosemite, of all places. Their chemistry was tangible from the start. He was crazy about her. How excited was I when he called me to photograph the two of them. Our session got started a bit late due to California’s crazy unpredictable highway traffic and a fast approaching sunset. However, we were able to steal away a few light filled moments. In case you’re wondering why he is proposing, Kristina’s original bling got stolen during their European travels, and naturally so, he wanted to replace it for her. Their getting married in Costa Rica in March and they’ve asked Ivan and I to do the honors. Yipee!
